Fiber laser cutting machines have excellent cutting performance and significant advantages over traditional processing methods. Compared with conventional cutting, laser cutting offers greater flexibility, higher efficiency, faster speed, lower labor demand, and much better precision.

Traditional cutting technology often requires molds, which increases production cost and reduces processing speed. Because of this, many traditional methods have gradually been replaced by precision laser processing technology. As metal materials are used more widely, laser cutting machines are now applied in more and more industries, including sheet metal processing, aviation, electronics, electrical appliances, automotive manufacturing, precision parts, craft gifts, and kitchenware.

It is easy to see that in today’s rapidly developing manufacturing industry, materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, galvanized sheet, and iron can all be cut quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively by laser cutting machines.

Processing Advantages of Laser Cutting Machines

Laser cutting technology has the following major advantages:

High cutting precision.
Smooth and clean cutting edges.
No need for molds.
Fast processing speed.
High flexibility for different materials and shapes.
Reduced labor cost and processing cost.
Improved production efficiency.
Suitable for a wide range of metal materials.

Because the laser beam does not contact the workpiece directly during cutting, the surface of the material is heated evenly. This helps ensure high cutting accuracy and excellent trimming quality. In many cases, the finished workpiece does not require additional polishing, deburring, or finishing, which further improves efficiency and reduces production cost.

Correct Use Method for Better Cutting Results

To achieve the best cutting effect and extend the service life of the machine, operators should follow the correct usage method and perform regular maintenance.

1. Maintain the Cooling System

The cooling system must be properly grounded. Clean the water tank and waterways regularly, and keep the refrigeration water temperature under correct control. Otherwise, the laser tube may be damaged, power output may drop, and condensation may occur. In severe cases, the laser tube may even stop working, leading to frequent replacement.

2. Install the Laser Tube Correctly

The laser tube must be installed in a reasonable position. The pivot point should be located at about one-fourth of the total length of the laser tube. If not installed correctly, the beam pattern may deteriorate, and after a period of use, the beam may split into several points. This will reduce laser power and affect cutting performance.

3. Check the Water Protection System

The water protection system should be checked and cleaned regularly. Cooling water should not directly flush the water protection float switch. If the protection system fails, do not use a short-circuit method to solve the problem temporarily.

4. Clean the Dust Removal System

The suction device and fan ducts should be inspected and cleaned on schedule. If smoke and dust are not removed effectively, they will quickly pollute the lenses and laser tube. In the long run, this may also cause oxidation of mechanical and electronic components, leading to poor contact and equipment failure.

5. Inspect the Lenses Regularly

The focusing lens and reflector should be checked frequently. If the lens frame overheats, or the lens surface becomes discolored, rusty, stripped, or cracked, it should be replaced immediately. Customers using atmospheric pumps and air compressors should pay special attention, because moisture can accumulate quickly on the focusing lens. Regular cleaning of the optical path is therefore necessary.

6. Keep the Working Environment Suitable

The laser cutting machine should not operate in a poor environment. If the ambient temperature is higher than 30°C or lower than 18°C, or if there is excessive dust or serious air pollution, the machine may be damaged and the failure rate may increase. In humid environments, electrical accessories are also more likely to malfunction.

7. Control the Operating Current Properly

The laser tube should not operate at long-term high intensity. It is not recommended to run continuously at 90% to 100% power for extended periods. Instead, the machine should be used within a reasonable range, typically 50% to 60% working time, and then adjusted according to the material and cutting speed.

This is the best working state for the laser tube and helps extend its service life.

Conclusion

Laser cutting technology is becoming more and more important in modern manufacturing. It can process a wide variety of workpieces, including materials with high melting points, high hardness, and high brittleness. Because the laser beam does not touch the material directly, the cutting process is precise, efficient, and highly adaptable.

With proper operation and regular maintenance, laser cutting machines can deliver stable performance, better cutting quality, and lower production costs. This is why precision laser processing technology is widely favored by users across many industries.
